Current Status
Planning and design of this project resumed in July 2008. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in 2012. Construction may start sooner if additional funding becomes available.
Staff presented three preliminary concept plans to neighbors for review and feedback at a public meeting on October 16, 2008. Additional input was accepted through this Web page through October 26, 2008. A summary of the comments received is now available under "Pubic Participation" below.
An updated proposed concept plan will be developed and mailed out to neighbors for final comments in November 2008. It will then be presented to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission for review and approval.

Project Description
This 8-acre park is located on NE 172nd Avenue between NE 3rd and NE 5th Streets in the Fisher-Mill Plain neighborhood. The park property currently features a number of mature evergreen trees and open grassy areas.
Clark County sets the budget for each park project based on site-specific conditions such as wetlands, other natural features, and the need for curbs and sidewalks on adjacent streets. The project budget also includes funding for neighborhood park features such as playground equipment, trails, picnic tables, landscaping, a sports court, and benches. What types of features will be included in this park will be determined with public input during the coming months.
Typical neighborhood parks are 3-5 acres in size. The county does not have enough funding available to develop and maintain all eight acres of this park. As a result, staff is developing a concept plan for only five of the park's eight acres. The remaining three acres will remain undeveloped, and may be sold by the county to help fund development of the remaining acreage in the future. Public Participation
Project staff rely on public participation to help guide park layout during the design process. Your input will:
- Help us understand and respond to the needs and concerns of your neighborhood.
- Help us understand which park features are most important to you and your neighbors.
- Help us learn about the potential for community fundraising to add features to the park.
The first project mailer and comment form was sent out to park neighbors in late March 2007, and posted on this Web page.
Several different preliminary concept plans were later developed based on public input, the project budget and the topography of the park. These plans were presented to neighbors at a public meeting on October 16, 2008, and posted on this Web page for review and input.
An updated proposed concept plan will be mailed out to neighbors for final comments in November 2008.

Project Funding
Design and construction of Fisher-Mill Plain Neighborhood Park is funded by park impact fees, which are paid whenever a new residential property is developed, and the real estate excise tax, which is paid whenever property is sold. Maintenance of the park will be funded by the Greater Clark Parks District, a special district approved by voters in the unincorporated urban area of Clark County in 2005.
